Daily Personal Progress challenges Divine Nature 1

Divine Nature #2 As a young woman you are blessed with divine feminine qualities. Increase your understanding of and appreciation for womanhood. Read Proverbs 31:10-31 and two talks on womanhood from a conference issue of the Church magazines. Review what "The Family: A Proclamation to the World" says about being a wife and a mother. Then ask your mother or another mother you admire what she thinks are important attributes for being a mother. List the attributes and strive to develop it. After two weeks report your success to a parent or leader.
Today we are doing the easy part!! Sit down with your mom or call your grandma or choose another mother in your life that you admire and ask them to tell you what they think are important attributes of being a mother. Make a list of the attributes and strive to develop them for 2 weeks. We will have this completed on May 13th!! Good Job :)

Daily Personal Progress challenges Divine Nature 1

Divine Nature #2
As a young woman you are blessed with divine feminine qualities.

So today read Proverbs 31:10-31 and read through "The Family: A Proclamation to the World" where it talks about wife's and mother's.

Here is the Proclamation, I have highlighted the parts about Wife's and Mother's but it would be great to read the whole thing if you have time.

The Family

A Proclamation to the World

We, the First Presidency and the Council of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, solemnly proclaim that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and that the family is central to the Creator’s plan for the eternal destiny of His children.
All human beings—male and female—are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny. Gender is an essential characteristic of individual premortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose.
In the premortal realm, spirit sons and daughters knew and worshipped God as their Eternal Father and accepted His plan by which His children could obtain a physical body and gain earthly experience to progress toward perfection and ultimately realize their divine destiny as heirs of eternal life. The divine plan of happiness enables family relationships to be perpetuated beyond the grave. Sacred ordinances and covenants available in holy temples make it possible for individuals to return to the presence of God and for families to be united eternally.
The first commandment that God gave to Adam and Eve pertained to their potential for parenthood as husband and wife. We declare that God’s commandment for His children to multiply and replenish the earth remains in force. We further declare that God has commanded that the sacred powers of procreation are to be employed only between man and woman, lawfully wedded as husband and wife.
We declare the means by which mortal life is created to be divinely appointed. We affirm the sanctity of life and of its importance in God’s eternal plan.
Husband and wife have a solemn responsibility to love and care for each other and for their children. “Children are an heritage of the Lord” (Psalm 127:3). Parents have a sacred duty to rear their children in love and righteousness, to provide for their physical and spiritual needs, and to teach them to love and serve one another, observe the commandments of God, and be law-abiding citizens wherever they live. Husbands and wives—mothers and fathers—will be held accountable before God for the discharge of these obligations.
The family is ordained of God. Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan. Children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony, and to be reared by a father and a mother who honor marital vows with complete fidelity. Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Successful marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities. By divine design, fathers are to preside over their families in love and righteousness and are responsible to provide the necessities of life and protection for their families. Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurture of their children. In these sacred responsibilities, fathers and mothers are obligated to help one another as equal partners. Disability, death, or other circumstances may necessitate individual adaptation. Extended families should lend support when needed.
We warn that individuals who violate covenants of chastity, who abuse spouse or offspring, or who fail to fulfill family responsibilities will one day stand accountable before God. Further, we warn that the disintegration of the family will bring upon individuals, communities, and nations the calamities foretold by ancient and modern prophets.
We call upon responsible citizens and officers of government everywhere to promote those measures designed to maintain and strengthen the family as the fundamental unit of society

Choice and Accountability
Choice & Accountability #2
Read the pamphlet For Strength of Youth. List in your journal each standard of righteous behavior the pamphlet outlines, and record why it is important to choose to live those standards. Practice living righteous standards by choosing three standards in which you need to improve. You might choose to be more selective about television, music, books, or other media, or you might improve your modesty, language, or honest. After three weeks share your progress with you family, your class, or a leader.

We will break this down so it is not so overwhelming.

Today read the First Presidency Message and the first 3 standards in the pamphlet (Agency & Accountability, Dating, Dress & Appearance). Write in your journal why it is important to live these three standards.

Personal Progress - Faith 1 Faith 2 Faith 3 Faith 4 Faith 5 Faith 6 Faith 7 Faith Projects
For girls camp they have asked us to pass off a few personal progress goals so the first one we will start with is Faith #7.
Here is what it says to do: The Lord has commanded us to pay tithing. Read D&C 119 and Malachi 3:8-12. Since obedience to the law of tithing  is an evidence of your faith, pay a full tithe. After three months record in your journal how paying tithing has helped your faith grow. List blessings in your life, both large and small, that have come because of your faith in the principle of tithing.

Here it is plain and simple read D&C 119 (there are only 7 verses) and Malachi 3:8-12. When you are done commit to paying a full tithe for three months.

For some of you it won't be much or anything that you earn but if you do earn money and need to pay your tithing make a commitment to pay it promptly and maybe for those of you that don't earn money on a regular basis you could ask your parents if you could do an extra chore that you could be paid for and you could pay tithing once during the 3 months.
I saw this idea while searching for something for a personal progress activity for a mutual night and thought what a great idea to keep girls progressing and remembering to do their personal progress. We set a goal this year and hope we will be able to accomplish it and maybe this will help.
Here goes!!
